Vivace – Full Score
from Concerto in G for Four Violins

Description
This vivace from the Baroque era should be played with a detached bow stroke. First violins, violas, cellos, and bass have passages with limited position work. Fingerings have been added to provide a reference for the Director. The symbol “-1” is a backward first finger extension. Optional third violin and piano parts have been included.
Georg Philipp Telemann (1681-1767) was an extraordinarily prolific composer. He mastered both the German and the Italian styles of composition prevalent in his day. Telemann became an exemplar of the German Baroque at its grandest development. Like his contemporaries Bach and Handel, his eyesight began to fail as he grew older.
Vivace – Let the entire orchestra have the melody. An excellence example for teaching detache, position work, and 3/8 meter. There is limited position work for first violins, violas, cellos, and basses. As a grade 3 arrangement, Vivace wil give all sections a chance to shine.
