REFLECTION: the opportunity to see within ourselves our goals, struggles and conflicts the joy, the peace

This piece is descriptive, but in an unusual way. It does not describe any particular story, but it may relate to some of our inner feelings as we proceed through our lives, which result from our experiences with ourselves and others.

While the technical demands are modest, an effective performance requires a more advanced level of musical maturity. There is ample opportunity here for musical and stylistic interpretation, and flexibility with tempo is encouraged. The instances of expressionistic effects should be played up.

I hope this work may inspire young players to share their impressions of and reactions to its musical statements.
I know it will be an effective concert piece.
