Minuet and March

Description

These two little Bach pieces expose young players to the style and sonority of the baroque period. The pieces help build skills in controlling legato (detache) and staccato bowing styles at various dynamic levels. They also promote rhythmic independence between the sections.

Careful attention should be paid to phrasing. Allow the music time to breathe. The Violin II part is intended only as a substitute or reinforcement for the viola part.

Best performance results will be achieved if all violins play the regular violin part.
