Port Isabel Getaway

Description

“Port Isabel Getaway” was commissioned by the Arlington Bowie High School Wind Ensemble and their conductor, Rumaldo Solis, in commemoration of their invitation to perform at the Western International Band Clinic in Seattle in 2018. The music begins as a road trip to the Rio Grande Valley, home of outstanding citrus fruit, 1st-class birdwatching, and superb hospitality that can only be described as warm and sincerely inviting! There are side trips to a road-side market and a Mexican restaurant before reaching the final destination: a party with salsa music in Port Isabel! The music is optimistically energetic and flavored with Latin – American influence!
