Description

The Honor and Glory Concert March is written in the conventional, traditional march form with an energetic introduction, Ist and 2nd strains plus a trio strain,

A fanfare-like opening leads Into the 1st strain featuring the trumpets, followed by the 2nd strain with its ensemble and woodwind passages.

Regarding the trio strain, the writer of Honor and Glory wishes to pay his respects to the great American bandmaster and composer John Philip Sousa. In Sousa’s well-known Semper Fidelis March, the trio strain features the trumpet section in a unison melodic line; likewise, a similar thought (unison trumpets) has become a part of the trio strain of the Honor and Glory Concert March.
