Description

Highland Hymn derives its melodic content from an old Scottish tune passed down to us through the songs of Northern lumberjacks, who used the wistful melody as a vehicle for lyrics commenserating their isolated existence and difficult work situation. The lyrics changed with each new location as generations of lumbermen migrated with their work from Canada to Michigan to Maine.
