Concerto in D

Description

This arrangement can be performed by a string quartet, quintet, or string orchestra.
The first violin part has several short passages in third position (Adagio, measures 28 through 33 in the first Allegro, measures 36 through 46 in the Grave, and measures 80 and 108 in the final Allegro). The second violin part in the Grave has one passage in third position (measure 59 through 65). The other parts are in first position with only an occasional shift to facilitate playing. For contrast, the first ten measures of the Grave are to be played senza vibrato. Fingerings have been added to provide a reference for the Director. The symbol “+4” indicates an extended fourth finger. Optional third violin and piano parts have been included.
